The corporate policy of the National Special Needs Network is to develop and promote the full usage of available governmental benefits and local disability resources for persons with congenital and acquired disabilities and chronic health issues. Initial contact with local service providers, and establishment of working parameters for referral through the central office
Consultation with local service providers regarding the specific requirements of client matters and availability of specialized services
Supervision and coordination of central office services and staff, including information updates, newsletters, membership, finances, and business management
Liaison with care management resources, managed care providers, Medicaid Waiver Support Coordinator systems, and Insurance/HMO claims personnel

Author of “Humanitarian Welfare Reform,” a Proposal which spurred the adoption of tax incentives for the purchase of Long-Term Care Insurance, as per the Welfare Reform Act of 1996, and the Ticket to Work and Work Incentives Program (1999), permitting persons with disabilities to retain eligibility for governmental benefits while sustaining employment
Author of the Roslyn and Martin Gold Amendment to the Social Security Act, advocating an alteration to the income and assets “Deeming doctrine,” which would permit spouses with disabilities to maintain eligibility for governmental benefits
